Mini Drawing Marathon at the Royal Drawing School

Yesterday I was lucky to attend two mini courses of the free Mini Drawing Marathon organised by the Royal Drawing School. I first joined a class led by sculptor artist Marcus Cornish, who gave very useful reminders and tips on anatomical drawings from life. I then joined Ishbel Myerscough‘s class where we drew a portrait with charcoal from direct observation. The classes were quite short and more of an overview of the kind of classes held at the School, but it was fun and good practice! The Drawing Year End of Year Exhibition 2018-19 of works done by current students was also on display. Here is a video of the event on the Royal Drawing School Facebook Page. Below are the drawings I did at each of the classes (charcoal on paper, A1), on left a 15 minute study, and on the right a 45 minute portrait.
